How to Work for an Idiot

The revised edition of How to Work for an Idiot, first released in 2003, expands the list of Idiot Boss (I-Boss) types, adding two new types as well as new material on how these types line up on a matrix of leadership characteristics and competencies. Written in an irreverent tone, John Hoover offers amusing anecdotes while also providing substantive messages about how to change certain behavior patterns in order to effectively deal with a boss. Hoover’s ultimate goal is to skillfully adapt to an I-Boss’s particular “idiot tendencies” in a manner that preserves a person’s sanity, and also acts to keep personal “inner idiots” in check.
