In Hold On, You Lost Me, authors Bernice McCarthy and Jeanine O’Neill-Blackwell assert that every person has an individual learning style, one that dictates how information is perceived and processed from the outside world. In order to be effective training leaders, it is imperative that personal learning styles are recognized, understood, and taken into account. Once the different types of learners in a classroom are identified, it then becomes possible to better adapt content and method of delivery to reach all learners. Through the illustration and exploration of their 4MAT Model, the authors aim to teach readers how to effectively engage, share, practice, and perform with all learning styles in the classroom.
