In The Cult of the Leader, Christopher Bones argues that the cult that now surrounds leadership and leader development is dangerous, not just for business but for all of society. According to Bones, modern leaders are typically egoistic, surrounded by people created in their own image, unaware of their faults and biases, and driven mostly by the need to boost their self-image. Society has wrongly lionized CEOs.
